In a vaguely linked aside, does Silverymoon have a symbol for itself? The city, I mean?

If so, maybe the Rods' symbol would sorta be a variation on that, or have elements of it...

Try page 112 of the Silver Marches book. The Knight in Silver has what looks like the appropriate symbol on his vestments. A silver moon and star symbol on a deep blue field. I would assume the Rods use the same symbol.

I was looking for something that would be distinct from the Knights, since I imagine there is no small amount of professional distrust between the two groups.

Holidays

Postby Kerry » Fri Nov 24, 2006 7:20 am

I was flipping through the FR book this morning and I realized we don't celebrate any of the holidays here.

The Feast of the Moon is coming up at the end of this month. I wouldn't go so far as saying a DM would need to run anything, but mood posts and a notice on the calendar might help focus role playing opportunities.

We only have the FR book here in the UK, I am sure the Silver Marches book has other holidays.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. There's an events thing on the front page isnt there? Why not put it there?

Festivals etc...

Why not have a patrol number under each badge? That way it distincts between the two?

Just a suggestion...

Why not have the Silver Knights use a silver badge, and the Rods a uhm.. black one?

I was asked something similar about the symbol for the Silver Warders ... and I still have no real idea what the symbol should be. Perhaps the cresent moon and star on a forest green field rather than the light blue field. The Rods may be the same on a black field?

that makes more sense. Keep the symbol the same and change the backgrounds.

Sub sections of the same force?

The current equipment list for the Rods does not include a badge (although this could change should the DMs see fit). Currently, the only distinctive feature of a Black Rod (aside from their mace) are their bracers, which have the symbol burned into them.

Bracers don't make for a good place for a badge number. So at some point the decision needs to be made if a) the Rods get badges numbers (the force cannot be more than 100-200 strong after all) b) if so, are these numbers displayed to the public.

Gollum

Postby Xairren » Fri Nov 24, 2006 5:07 pm

Just was wondering, what would the stats page of Gollum look like?
(At the point when he leads Frodo into the cave. At his worst)
Thoughts, ideas?

I don't think there are any Silver Marches-specific holidays, but there are specific holidays for each religion, in addition to the ones celebrated by everyone. Any listing of Holidays we add--something I'll add to my to-do list--should probably include at least said holidays for the common Silvaeren religions.
