Welp, I am just going to have to wait until it comes out on DVD and see it before reading the books.

We're still planning on going to see it New Year's Eve. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I've discovered that I tend to enjoy the movies people tell I'll hate, and I hate the movies people insist I should watch.

From my own experience of seeing books turned into movies, it seems like the movies are much better if the viewer can watch it with an open mind. I haven't read the book, so I have no basis of comparison. I tend to think of this as a good thing. I haven't read the Harry Potter books for the same reason. Most of the people I've heard complain about those movies are people who have read the books already. I've enjoyed the Harry Potter movies a lot. I suspect it'll be the same with this movie.

Just my two cents . . .

There's still 3 more movies and one more book (at least) to come.

I've put my chrimbo order for books in this year and that collection to date is on it!! The only thing my mum's allowed to get me this year is the Eragon series. And for once she knew what I was on about!

Don't worry Raina, I do plan on reading the books. I just want to finish with the movies first.

Patrick, that was cool. And here I thought the D&D movie was Star Wars with dragons.

Well.
Loved the Harry Potter books. Damned good writing.
Did NOT like the Eragon books. Some cheese, and its not great aged cheese either.
Therefore, i was expecting as most movies are, for hte movie to be worse than the book. Yep! Was not disapointed. But then, i wasnt expecting much.
My Eragon-obsessed dragonloving son though was WILDLY pissed and bitched the WHOLE way home.

Its ok for a video rental. Just have it with plenty of booze.
