It has been brought to our attention that people would like to see some more focus on our new home (Waterdeep). While the DMs have all been trying to get the mechanic foundation in place for the site, there hasn't been much that is visible publicly. My question here is, what would you all like to see? We have heard requests for more details about the military, Skullport, and some of the temples. But what else would people like to see? Now that real life has started to calm down for us (at least a little bit), we can start focusing on other things as well.

I would like to see established NPCs in certain positions that players would generally intereract with. Usually I only see that in WoD games. But it would be very nice to have people to interact with usually, both pro and antagonists. Doesn't need to be a lot; but some, i suppose so we can use all those rarely used skills we keep spending the bloody points on. hah!!

Also I have seen a few people working on showing hints of long term plots; that is a very good thing! More! MORE!!!

I agree that more NPCs to interact with would be nice, but that falls more into the DMs needing to paly them out for us/run more social scenes. I know that you all have some stuff in the works and such, so i on't go into that.

Another thing is as Waterdeep is a merchantile city (aka money talks) I'd like to see more stuff for businesses. I know I've mentione dhtis a bit already, but I'd like to see owning a business be more than just 'pay x gold to open shop', as well as oppurtunities to own businesses, without really running them. like owning a tavern, but not being the barkeep yourself. but thats my two cents.

Tachus, take a look at the Items for Sale thread. There have been some updates that may at least partially have what you're looking for.

In regards to NPC's there are a few old stand by's that everyone could tap into as needed. For Example when setting a scene running a quick potion ID scene with Bex she came up with the kindly clergy of Ilmater - Elder Perenold (blame the name on me) He is a kindly older cleric once a feirce monk warrior who now spends his days helping the sick and injured at the small Temple of Ilmater very near the Halls of Justice.

Yes i can give examples!!
Overall, there are certain people NPCs who will be important in a number of PCs lives. A Waterdeep whatever-equivanlent of a crimes investigator, to put some sort of pressure on our thieves contingent. A magistrate, who might keep seeing certain groups of bar brawlers over and over again. certain guild members, like that of Thieves guild, who will be watching over their members, punishing, and also crackign down on nonmember thieves. Heads of factions of importance.

Maybe, certain street urchins who are in someone's pay and report back to someone.

Some of this will be covered with PCs, and some already perhaps worked into your long term storylines. However, you DID ask what i wanted, and so this looks tempting to me!

Also, i would like..
A hot fudge sunday over Godiva Dutch Dark Chocolate ice cream, with two cherries and lots of whip and no nuts. Thank you.

If anyone has read the novel, The City of Splendors by Ed Greenwood and Elaine Cunnigham, that only takes place 5 years before the current time in your game. There are plenty of NPC's to choose from, Mirt the Moneylender, Eliath Craulnober, etc. It's a great novel and probably a good source book as well. I admit I haven't read the game companion book, but I would assume they might each have their own helpful pieces of information.
