Oooze in the Ale

Postby grayburst » Tue Dec 15, 2009 8:59 am

Last night the 3 Stars tavern was disrupted, when a deliver of an ale butt brought a horrid suprise. The ale butt was discovered to contain two members of an unknown species of ooze. One individual was killed, and another grieviously injured. Rapid response by the 3 Stars staff, clergy of the town, and the Watch quickly brought the situation undercontrol.

Foul play and commercial sabotage are strongly suspected and a further investigation by the Watch is expected.

Last night the watch apprehended two men with the aid of several citizens of Waterdeep. The two men were detained for questioning in the matter of contaminated ale shipments to taverns and inns around the city. Two victims were killed during the incident.

The wagoneer has grieviously injured in the battle that ensued and was later found to be completely mind enfeebled. The other worker in the wagon was discovered to be nothing more than a day body guard hired to guard the ale shipment. He has claimed innocences and is being investigated further by the Magisters.

A priest of Imater on the scene stated there was also a fiendish presence in the short battle, further details are unknown.

The watch has raided the offices if Triatic Importers, the delivers of the tained ale. The importers claim no knowledge of the wrong doings and further investgations into the business dealings of Triatic Importers are forthcoming.

Three taverns reported to the watch unusual incidents.

1. Three customers were killed when they raided the inn's supply room. It appears they took ale from the tap of a ale but. The necrologist of the watch report the dead seem to have drank acid.

2. A tavern in the dock ward reports two of their staff missing, and their basement overcome with a foul miasmi

3. A up class resturante in the Sea Ward reported to the watch that shady individuals attempted to make a delivery that was unsolicited, and became belligerent when denied an opportunity to deliver their alleged goods. The altercation left one chef in need of medical treatment before the individuals left the scene.

Archer Strongarm, who is a Watchman stationed in the Docks District, has personally been investigating this disappearance. He visits the tavern for any leads, and also visits the family of the two missing staff to find out if they might be involved in anything illicit.

Archer will follow any lead, and any hint, and is intent on helping the family reclaim their lost loved ones.

Archer will take a sample of of the foul miasmi, careful not to touch it, and give the sample to the most respected Wizard he can find. To see if they can discover anything.

(Silver I'll get back to you via forum message about the results of that sample).

The watch reports an incident in the Trade ward left 5 people dead and several critical wounded. Some form of illegal necromancy is suspected. Several zombies were created from the slain, and some form of summoned monsters was let loose.

Only the quick actions of Officer Kethean Kincaide of the Gryphon Flight and the intervention of numerous other bystanders keep many more from being harmed. The Watch has no leads at this time, and all divination has proven ineffectual.

Yet another incident occurred in a small Market outdoor tavern. Details are vague but rumor states that another tainted ale incidented set off a small riot resulting in 18 people critically injured and 4 dead. The Watch is investigating with no comment on the cause of these incidents. Rumor is that a number of taverns and inns are returning or refusing purchase of any ales coming out of Neverwinter, regardless of brand, but most especially any dwarven ales. The speculation that some magical compound is being used to spike some ale shipments has created intense customer distrust of all such beverages in many throughout Waterdeep.

After two weeks without incident, the Watch had come to believe the terror attacks upon various alcholol serving places, and the tainting of ale supplies had scenes. Yet another incident last night restored previous concerns and fears.

A House of the Night Ladies was the scene of a horridious scene last night when several customers and three prostitues were killed gruesomely within one louge located within the house. Furniture delivered several days ago to refubish one particular louge was discovered to be various forms of monsterous oozes, puddings, and molds forced into some type of arcane suspend animation, and then shaped into furniture. Only the timely intervention of several evokers and abjurers of the Watch were able to contain and destroy the monsters. Much of the establishment was damaged by the resulting arcane fires.

Keth'ean would accompany Evander to the locale to investigate, both to see that the 'ladies' were not injured, and to see if the oozes involved were of the same type as before.

Evander will politely ask that the ladies remain vigilant and keep a watchful eye out for anything else out of the ordinary to leave word at either the orphanage or the Hospice of St Laupsen if they have any additional information. (May want to get together for a scene on this.)

(We should get together for a scene on this one. I've got a lot of irons in this particular fire, so sorting them out IC is easier for the data exchange and follow on investigation matters.)

The Watch reports that last night the Burning Man tavern was burned to the ground. Six people were killed. Reports by eyewittnesses report the presence of several amorpheus life forms, leading investigators to believe that this is yet another rash in the strange attacks on drinking establishments in Waterdeep.

It is believed that one of the adventurers at the tavern started the fire in an attempt to fight or destroy the strange oozes. This individual is sought for questioning, since his actions are considered reckless on first investigation. A reward for information about the attack or the arson is offered.

Tahiri's made the general situation clear to all her staff, now - not a single order is to be accepted without her or the chief cook's direct knowledge. And if it wasn't ordered, the delivery boys are to be subdued quickly and with whatever level of force deemed necessary at the time. (Bonus points to anyone using a boiling pot of cheese sauce.)

In a separate line of thought, Tahiri starts to get the word out that she's contemplating renovations and would like people who can arrange for very fast demolition and reconstruction please contact her.

The watch investigated yet another attack on a tavern. This time on the famous Yawning Portal. Wittness report two halfings attempting to make a delivery of mushrooms were slain when their delivery seem to transform into some form of animated mold. Numerous by standers took part in containing the dire threat.

Watch investigators are unsure if this matter is connected to the deadly ooze attacks that have plagued the city or one more strange occurrence connected to the city's resident dungeon.

Allison reports to the owner of the inn and the watch about curing bouts of "Fungal rot" disease of those involved with the mushroom oozes, that it is a magical diease and thus cannot be cured save for magical aid such as the "remove disease" spell, the conditions of each & every stage of the disease, and where to contact her if they need the curing clerical blessons of Divine Lord Finder Wyvernspur to end such diseases.

Allison also provids the owner of the inn and the watch a list of those she cured (herself, Miryia, Antiny, Connor, and Kaileta)
