Drunk, smelling like vomit and seagulls, Edward Teach stumbles shirtless into the Hawkinter estate, he loudly asserts he has 100 gold for the horsey, and asks if horses can swim. He also glares angrily at one of the servants and accuses him of 'eyeballing him.'

Like all of the wealthier estates of the Waterdhavian noble Houses, the Hawkwinter estate of this particular Lord, who happens to be Jax's grandfather and ennobled in two different realms, is very heavily guarded. Teach is stopped at the gate by Lord Hawkwinter's welltrained guards. Only that the man has gold to purchase mounts, and the subsequent possibility of seeing the interviewing between The Paladin Jax, and a drunk wanting a horse, keeps them from tossing the Smelly, unkempt Teach off their lawn.

As it is, he is not yet permitted access, looking more like a drunken peasent sailor who stole coins than a reputable person with actual, meaningful conversation to offer a nobleman.
"Let Young Hawkwinter judge for himself, " they mutter, as they pass the proverbial buck, and send a runner/message to Jax.

Teach is given a thirst quenching sour cider and bread to refresh himself while he waits, just once, and permission to sit on the grass, just there, if he chooses not to stand.

Jax himself comes in, a loud rumble of laughter can be heard before his entrance. Something akin to a dragon laughing maybe? But, dragons aren't allowed into the City are they? Then the man comes into view himself - Tall, very tall and imposing. He frowns slightly as he adjusts his gloves on first his left hand then his right. Bending his head to hear the guard pass on his tale, then his eyes lift to land on the shape and form of one, Edward Teach. Then the Paladins face goes a very plain and expressionless blank canvas. The guards that were slouching and keeping an eye on the assumed drunk Teach all shift their stance to combat ready, all without really moving too much to do it as well. Anyone that didn't know what or who they were might think they're merely collectively adjusting their positions.

The Paladin's eyes run over the vomit festooned man sat on the grass and then he sighs, moves to a crouch that is out of range of the apparent drunk, then lifts his right hand to set it under his nose as if the stench offends him. The frown increases and he glances to a nearby guard. "Have a bucket of water, soap and a scrubbing brush brought out." Then he shakes his head again before speaking to the drunk himself.

"When you are sober, you will conduct yourself with style and manners no doubt. But I refuse to do business with you until that point. Water is on its way to wash yourself up and make you less...... whiffy." He gestures again in the direction of the drunken lout and then with that habitual frown on his face he rises again, leaves a few guards with him to keep an eye and asks a runner to be sent for him when he's sober enough to deal with any transaction.

"I prefers ta stand." He said with a it of an attitude when he was offered a seat on the grass. Who did these mewling snobs think they were? Well paid probably. "Hey..." He pointed at one of the guards. "Ya know ye look familiar. Ever clean stables?" He grinned a Cheshire grin at s own cleverness.

The bread and cider was good, not great. But he was thankful enough. When he heard the dragon voice laugh, he knew it had to be the famed Jax.(knowledge local 7) Just the man he had come to see. But when he was told he needed to shower, he actually looked excited. "Ohh sir, that'a mighty white a'ye, to offer to bath poor dirty, filthy, encrusted, wretched, sour, brilliant, and slippery Eddie. Does ye have any round assetted serving wenches? I likes me a girl that'd do anything fer a copper. And no soft handed fresh ones, I want one that's been around. Ya know? With that look inner eye that says 'I used to have shame, and now I'm dead to it."

All manners are afforded to Teach while he rattles off his wishes and preferences, meanwhile Jax moves from his crouch to be stood and turns to one of the guardsmen. "If you would be so kind as to get Mistress Foxglove, lets see that this gentleman is as comfortable as possible shall we?"

Then he nods his good day to Teach and promises his return after he's finished dealing with a few things.

About ten minutes later Teach finds himself in the Guards steam room, where a large hot spring feeds into a stone tub of water before passing on it's way to where ever else it goes, and waiting for Teach with a scrubbing brush, a bucket of sweet sand to cleanse with and a towel is a rather large woman, possibly of half orc descent somewhere and a no nonsense attitude that promises Teach will not escape the sweats here until he's been scrubbed to within an inch of his life.

Teach enjoys his rough bathing, making sure that the large woman doesn't miss any spots. "Come on, scrub. Do ye have any idea how filthy this spot is? Muscle woman, scrub fer yer trade!"
