State of the Chat- Programmer Update

Postby Mark » Mon Feb 24, 2014 5:38 pm

FYI People:

I want to let everyone know that the contract with the programmer has now expired, as his three months of additional work after completion of the contracted obligations are now done.

What does this mean for us? Essentially, not much at first. As long as things continue to run smoothly, we should be fine. However, if something does begin to change then this will be a different story.

If we begin to start having more chat issues that do not seem to resolve on their own or things begin to become "unplayable," then we have the option of rehiring the programmer in the future to help out. I am currently negotiating prices on any future work we might need.

So what this means it that if the chat crashes for a few minutes, or lags for an hour, but is otherwise not bothersome, let it slide. If things get to the point that things are no longer working, then we will revisit another collection for hiring the programmer again.

On that, I want to say a big thank you to Chris, the programmer, for all his hard work and for helping us get on our feet again.
I move the stars for no one. You've run so long you've run so far. Your eyes can be so cruel.  Just as I can be so cruel.
